10 More States Adopt Rules to Collect Sales Tax From Out of State Dealers – HBK CPAs & Consultants
In light of the Supreme Court’s Wayfair Decision in June, more and more states are enacting laws that require dealers to collect and remit sales tax on transactions in their state even if the dealership has no physical presence in that state. Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Dakota, Washington and Wisconsin recently joined the ever-growing list of states doing this.
