Fraud Alert
A member recently notified the Association about a fraudulent situation his dealership encountered. Someone hacked into the dealership’s bank account and created checks for a fake business. The individual then cashed three fake checks at a Walmart totaling over $1,000. Fortunately, the dealership’s bank caught the fraudulent transactions early so nothing further happened. This serves as a good reminder to review safety protocols surrounding all of your accounts and to carefully check statements for fraudulent activity each month.
